Zhua is a Chinese weapon used to wrap, capture, entangle and scratch. It features a metal hand or claw at the end of a chain or rope. It has some scratches on its surface that can be created by a Zhua. “Zhua Oak” was developed due to a highly topical surface trend: rustic 3-D-structures and especially rough sawn woodgrain is much in demand. The decor was planned with a restrained planking and a concerted, interesting colourplay.
Very typical are the negative pores, the wood details such as oak sabmarks and the transverse-to-the-grain saw cut in particular.
